Reflections is a National PTA Arts Recognition Program:  https://www.pta.org/home/programs/reflections

 

Your child has the opportunity to:

·       Unleash their creative talents and be inspired

·       Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork

·       Experience the joy and fun of making art

·       Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme

·       Receive positive recognition for their original works of art

 

Also in showcasing and celebrating student talent, the Reflections Program increases community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

 

The 2019-2020 theme "Look Within" will spark imagination and creativity in school and at home. Encourage your child to imagine, create and celebrate with Reflections!

 

1st and 2nd place in each category for each age division will move on to Cherokee County judging.

                                                          Want to Help?

We need volunteers to, collect entries, arrange for judging, submit winners to local unit (Cherokee County) and coordinate the reception and awards ceremony.

What is Reflections?
 

The Reflections Arts Recognition Program is a national arts recognition and achievement program for students.

 

Students are invited to create art reflecting this year’s theme Heros Around Me. They can enter in 7 different categories:

 

  • Dance

  • Film

  • Literature

  • Music Composition

  • Photography

  • Visual Arts

 

Students of all grades and abilities are welcome to enter.

 

In showcasing and celebrating student talent, the Reflections Program increases community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

 

All students who enter will be recognized at the school level. 1st and 2nd place winners from our school will move on to county judging. Winners at the county level will be recognized at a ceremony in November and they will move on to state level then have a chance to compete nationally.
